Bryton Albright

Earlier this week, we had a guest speaker in our Worship Arts class. Bryton Albright, the Worship Pastor at Upland Community Church, shared his story and his testimony about how God has moved him with and towards worship. God has worked in some amazing ways in his life, but the thing that touched me the most was how he marked the different stages of his testimony. Bryton used hymns and worship songs to speak about moments in his testimony. Songs that God used in pivital moments of his life to speak into. I think that really just showed me the power that music has, and specifially music that is filled with God's words. They bring such encouragement and empowerment which is something Bryton really highlighted while sharing his story. It is also a good way to remember what God has brought us through. God commands us to remember the works of his hands and his faithfulnes, and through the songs Byrton listed, he is able to do that.

Another part of Bryton's story that really inspired me was just simply to hear his heart. It is so evident when I was listening to him that he loves Jesus and just wants to please God. Bryton is clearly is living life by God's calling and through massive faith. He has perservered through so many questions of why, through many stuggles of family, and confusion of the future. But he never lost faith. He never stopped trusting in God's sovereignty and faithfulness. It was just refreshing to see all these attributes being lived out in a man who I have never met but so clearly see Christ in him.
